Our Story & Mission

What inspired the creation of WheyPops?

WheyPops started in my own kitchen as a labor of love. My mother struggled with diabetes and other health issues, but she never lost her love for ice cream. I created these frozen protein pops so she could enjoy that familiar, delicious taste without compromising her health. Although she is no longer with us, WheyPops exists today because of her. Every pop we craft is a tribute to her legacy—offering a protein-forward indulgence that proves you never have to choose between your health and the treats you love.

Nutrition & Quality

What are the nutritional "Macros" for a WheyPop?
Each pop is designed to be a functional, guilt-free recovery snack:
  • Protein: 12 g of high-quality whey protein
  • Calories: 60-100 per pop
  • Clean Label: No junk or fillers—sweetened only with organic honey
What ingredients do you use?
We use only four premium essentials:
  • Grass-fed whey protein (gluten-free and easily digestible)
  • Organic unsweetened almond beverage
  • Organic honey
  • Real fruit
What makes your whey protein different?

We use grass-fed whey protein that is naturally gluten-free and formulated for easy digestion. This ensures a cleaner protein source that’s gentle on the stomach while delivering high-quality nutrition.

What are the benefits of using Grass-Fed Whey Protein?

At WheyPops, we don't just care about the amount of protein—we care about the quality. We use 100% Grass-Fed Whey because it comes from cows that graze on natural pastures, resulting in a superior nutrient profile compared to standard grain-fed whey.

The Grass-Fed-Advantage:

  • Higher Nutritional Content: Grass-fed whey is naturally richer in key nutrients, including Omega-3 fatty acids and CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid), which support heart health and help maintain lean muscle mass.
  • Superior Amino Acid Profile: It provides a complete spectrum of essential amino acids, which are the building blocks your body needs for muscle recovery and daily energy.
  • No Added Hormones or Antibiotics: By choosing grass-fed, we ensure your protein is free from rBGH (recombinant bovine growth hormone) and unnecessary antibiotics. It's protein in its purest form.
  • Better for Digestion: Many people find that grass-fed whey is easier on the stomach. Because the cows are raised on their natural diet of grass, the resulting whey is often cleaner and less likely to cause the bloating associated with lower-quality protein powders.
  • Environmentally Conscious: Grass-fed farming practices are generally more sustainable and ethical, supporting better animal welfare and healthier soil.

Why it matters: When you eat a WheyPop, you are fueling your body with a “clean“ protein that is free from synthetic fillers and chemical byproducts. It's the perfect recovery snack that actually works as hard as you do.

Why do we use Organic Fortified Almond Beverage instead of other milks?

We carefully selected Organic Fortified Almond Beverage as the base for WheyPops to provide the smoothest texture and best nutritional profile without the heaviness or allergens found in other milks.

How it compares to the alternatives:

  • Better than Dairy (Regular Milk): By using almond beverage, we offer a treat that is significantly lower in calories, cholesterol, and saturated fat. It provides that creamy “ice cream“ mouthfeel while remaining easier on the digestive system for those with lactose sensitivities.
  • Better than Oat Milk: While oat milk is popular, it is naturally very high in carbohydrates and often contains added seed oils and thickeners. Almond beverage allows us to keep the glycemic load low, making WheyPops a smarter choice for blood sugar management.
  • Better than Soy Milk: We avoid soy to ensure our pops are accessible to those with soy allergies and to maintain a “clean label“ free from phytoestrogens and GMOs often associated with mass-produced soy.

The “Fortified“ Difference:

We don't just use any almond milk; we use a fortified organic version. This means you get a boost of essential vitamins and minerals—like Calcium, Vitamin D, and Vitamin E—that occur naturally in dairy but are often missing in standard plant milks.

The Result for You:

  • Lower Calorie Count: Allows for a guilt-free, high-protein indulgence.
  • Heart Healthy: High in monounsaturated fats and zero cholesterol.
  • Clean & Organic: No synthetic pesticides, carrageenan, or artificial fillers.

The WheyPops Way: We chose almond beverage because it acts as the perfect “blank canvas“ It lets the premium flavor of our grass-fed whey and organic honey shine through without the bloating or heavy carb-load of other bases.

How is the fruit prepared?

We take food safety seriously. All fruit is treated with a baking soda soak for 15-20 minutes to help remove surface pesticides before being blended into our recipes.

Are WheyPops vegan?

No. While we use organic unsweetened almond beverage, our protein source is dairy-based whey and we use honey for sweetness. However, they are a lower-lactose alternative to traditional ice cream.

Why do we use organic honey to sweeten WheyPops?

We chose Organic Honey because we believe you shouldn't have to settle for artificial chemicals or highly processed sugars to enjoy a frozen treat. Honey is nature's most functional sweetener, allowing us to keep our ingredient list clean and your body fueled.

What this means for you:

  • No “Sugar Crash”: Organic honey has a lower glycemic index than refined white sugar. This means you get a steady release of energy without the dramatic blood sugar spikes and crashes
  • Rich in Natural Antioxidants: Unlike “empty calorie” sweeteners, organic honey contains bioactive plant compounds and antioxidants that support your overall wellness and immune system.
  • A “Clean Label” Experience: By using organic honey, we avoid the use of high-fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, and sugar alcohols that can often cause digestive upset.
  • Pure & Pesticide-Free: Choosing Organic ensures that the honey is harvested from bees in environments free from synthetic pesticides and pollutants, delivering the purest flavor possible.
  • Naturally Delicious: Honey provides a unique, floral depth of flavor that complements our high-quality whey protein, giving you that indulgent “ice cream” feel with none of the guilt.

The Bottom Line: We use organic honey because it treats your body with respect. It's a smarter, more natural way to satisfy your sweet tooth while staying on track with your health goals.
